    Body repair experience

It was iterative...initial waiting of about a month, then 32 days actually in the shop, maybe 10 to 15 of which were waiting for a second round of parts.

Navigate on Autopilot fails, Autopilot continues

Yesterday I experienced something I thought I'd share. When I began a road trip in the morning after a heavy rain, Navigate on Autopilot (set ON by default) frequently would drop out with a message to the effect (not a quote) that it was unavailable, and if the problem persisted, I should...

Load clunk when the car brakes on adaptive cruise control

I often hear it, too. It's not related to creep, as I've never turned that on. I think it's somehow related to the actuator that "presses the brake pedal" for the hydraulic friction brakes, but I've never really investigated it.

    Body repair experience

Got it back after the sensor repainting on Monday--one week. Everything takes a long time with a Tesla, apparently.

    Body repair experience

Autobotalex, I didn't deal with the Owings Mill outfit directly, all my dealings were through the Tysons service center because it was a warranty repair. I really have only two observations: 1) they took a very long time (about a week and a half) to do an alignment on my rear hatch--a very...

    Supercharger - Haymarket, VA

Passed by the station on Friday, 16 Nov. Chargers still under plastic cover, didn't get to look more closely.

    Body repair experience

Well...I previously had warranty body work that was done there, and they took 3 weeks to do a hatch alignment (no parts needed) and lost my charging cable in the process. Maybe they're getting better....

    Body repair experience

I know this has been covered extensively, but it's always good to share the latest experience. My Model S 75D got rear-ended at a traffic light here in Northern Virginia on 23 July; the damage did not appear extensive--damaged bumper cover, knocked-out ultrasonic sensors, bent hatch cover, bent...

    Stuck at 47A

I have the same issue with my new wall charger--only pulls 47A, but voltage at 244-245V. Thanks for the useful and highly logical insight!

    Door Handle Failures

The drivers side handle failed--stopped presenting--on my MS 75D after about 3 weeks. Tesla sent a mobile truck to fix it in 1.5 days. The technician--who was excellent--said that door handles are his No. 1 service job, but that Tesla introduced a Generation 3 door handle in 2017 that is much...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The Gen I mobile charger cord is somewhat thicker and heavier than the Gen II and, as I noted before, can charge at up to 40A from a NEMA 14-50 plug vice 32A from Gen II. The Gen I plug adapters are smaller and are between the wall plug and the cord, whereas the Gen II plug adapters also have a...

Re: the light housings--look for misalignments, cracks, and water ingress. Re: the mobile charger--if there's any way at all to get 240V supply to your parking spot, do it. Night and day difference. In any case, get as high an amperage circuit as possible. If 110V, get a 20A circuit. If 240V...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

They offered the free maintenance and high power wall charger as comp. I asked for the wheel locks. I didn't have to push, but it was pretty obvious that I was unhappy/disappointed--as anyone would have been. I didn't have a particular checklist, just looked over everything carefully--I had...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My delivery experience. We finally got our red MS 75D today. To recap: DS originally told us that the car was scheduled to arrive and be delivered on 18 Dec, which eventually slipped to 19 Dec. On 18 Dec, he told me that due to rules on how long the delivery truck driver could drive, it...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Update: Got back to me the next day and said they have a new, unpainted rear bumper in stock; have the car and part at a certified paint shop now, and SHOULD have it to me in a week (29 Dec), what with the weekend and Christmas and all. We'll see....

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm bummed. DS called yesterday and said the car has arrived, but was damaged in transport--looks like a couple of prongs rubbed on the rear bumper and made two dime-sized holes in the paint and bumper. No structural damage, but they're scrambling to find a bumper and qualified paint shop...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

So, I posted last week that my red MS 75D was supposed to finish production the weekend of 9-10 Dec, ship to NOVA the following week, and be delivered 18 Dec (today). I got a message from DS on Saturday saying that there was a delivery delay, and postponing delivery until 19 Dec (tomorrow)...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

DS said that my red MS 75D should finish production this weekend. I'm scheduled to pick up in NOVA on Monday, 18 Dec. Can't wait! Ordered 26 Oct, confirmed 29 Oct, production (apparently) began 6 Dec.

Status on my 75D, ordered 26 Oct, just changed to "in production" today. Woo hoo!

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Heard today from DS that my red 75D (ordered 10/26) will go into production next week, still on track for mid-December delivery to NOVA. All seems well so far....

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Got an e-mail from my DS late last week...says car should be produced late Nov, or early Dec...2-3 weeks for shipment to NOVA by train, or about 3-5 days by truck, which they ususally opt for at the end of the year. Ordered 10/26, says everything still looking good for mid-late Dec delivery...

    Ordered S75D Oct 7th

I ordered on 26 Oct, originally said Jan-early Feb, status changed a few days ago when VIN was assigned to Dec-early Jan. DS continues to assure me car will be delivered in Dec. Hope he's right.

Delivery update from order on Oct. 1

Just updated today with a VIN and listing changed to "December - early January." At least it's moving in the right direction. Is getting the VIN a more meaningful benchmark from which I can estimate a more accurate delivery date?

Delivery update from order on Oct. 1

I'm having the same experience. Listing "Jan - early Feb 2018," but DS says he's confident it will be delivered in December. Really, really hope he's right if the tax credit is repealed.

    Order confirmed on 10/4

I'm in a similar, but slightly worse, boat. Ordered 10/26, confirmed 10/30. I live in northern VA, so Fremont delivery isn't a realistic option for me. Does anybody know how long transport to NOVA typically takes?
