RECURRING EVENT: Cars & Coffee at duPont Registry in St. Petersburg

So bummed I couldn't make it :( I will try for January!

Why AP 2.0 Won't Be Here Soon, and It Won't Be What You Think It Is

My Model S does a pretty good job of staying in its lane for the most part, but it's biggest shortcoming (by FAR) is not adjusting it's position within the lane to avoid large vehicles that either fill up the entire lane, or drive on one side of the lane, as well as certain individuals who don't...

    Chill Mode in Snow

I reenacted this scenario in sand. Car felt like it was driving through molasses, until the sand abruptly ended and the car shot forward like a rocket. Very interesting considering there was no wheelspin before traction control would take over, as on other cars.

Model 3 Interface - Abduzeedo Concept

    I like it!

    Exactly one week until delivery...

Apparently they had wiped the car after receiving it back from loan (see below) and the drive up the road from the SC to the Store (about 800 feet up an incline) had accounted for the high usage. Yes I originally made a typo in my haste to post the message.. oops! I understand it is meant to...

Who says you need a roof rack!? (Warning: pic not for the faint hearted)

We were joking about doing this last night. Now that I see it can be done..

    Exactly one week until delivery...

They offered to have mine ready by the upcoming Friday (I ordered on a Monday) but it was too soon to fly all the way up, and the next weekend was Thanksgiving so I had family in town. The wait kind of increased my anticipation!

Did you name your Model S, and if so, what?

    Mister Tom
  10. nigelsilva

    Exactly one week until delivery...

I was under this impression as well. Apparently since it sat at the factory it could have been moved around several times, and the truck occasionally drops off the cars in locations away from the service center.
  11. nigelsilva

    Exactly one week until delivery...

I was reasonably upset, I failed to get a clear explanation on mileage, the delivery specialist said that since I purchased inventory it could have been used for test drives, which doesn't make sense since it was purchased while in transit to the dealership, and was labelled as having less than...

    Exactly one week until delivery...

UPDATE: So I picked the car up yesterday and drove it 400 miles to Atlanta! I'm currently at the SC in Tifton, on my way down to Florida. Other than the fact that both door mirror assemblies need to be replaced (malfunctioning) and that the car had 87 miles on it, with someone averaging...

    Exactly one week until delivery...

I ordered inventory so it was simply a matter go when I could fly up. Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your experience, that is definitely farm from ideal. I asked my OA about the way things are done in other areas with delivery a couple of weeks ago (since I picked up out of my region) and he...

    Exactly one week until delivery...

Sounds like that will be an amazing trip! Are you picking it up at Fremont? Did you purchase an inventory car that was already in Oregon or heading there? Or did you opt to take delivery there for another reason? Sounds like that will be a great trip as well, I've always loved the Pacific...

    Exactly one week until delivery...

Mine is sitting at the service center, so there better not be any delays! I'm flying over a thousand miles to pick it up. This week is going by terribly slowly! I have yet to have the electrician come install the plug, so I've been taking the loaner to my local supercharger every other day. I'm...

    Bitcoins, anyone?

I hope some of the people on page one kept the BTC they bought. I thought it was total BS after seeing it crash to around $100 from it's previous high of ~1,200.

Dropped my trade-in off at the Service Center yesterday and I'm in a loaner 100D until delivery!

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

I'm pretty sure Tesla usually understates their figures. I wouldn't be surprised if it's really closer to 4 flat. I wonder if EU cars didn't receive the uncorking? Or has this been determined already.

CPO Inventory down to 14 cars? How can this be?

I believe this isn't possible one way or the other. It's either you can't bring Canadian cars to the US or the other way around, I can't remember which unfortunately. Might be both. It's worth looking into though! Might be possible for all I know.

RECURRING EVENT: Cars & Coffee at duPont Registry in St. Petersburg

I am excited to meet anyone that can make it. It's an open event obviously, so anyone reading this that wants to come, please do. If you'd like to exchange numbers and plan on meeting up at the event just PM me.

    Model 3 TCO/Comparison exist?

Does a total cost of ownership comparison between say the Model 3 and a 320i or Accord V6 exist? Something along the lines of this: Tesla TCO Comparison I searched the forums and didn't find anything. If nothing exists I'll tweak that one for my purposes. Thanks!

CPO Inventory down to 14 cars? How can this be?

Full inventory is not visible to anyone except delivery specialists and owner advisors (in terms of new/inventory). Same applies for CPO. If you start the process you'll find that they'll have more than 14 cars available. Just as if you go on the website and it shows little in the way of new...

    Nag reduced with 2017.46

This is absolutely correct. May I add that when you're driving, get used to always having a little bit of pressure on the pedal. To slow down, relieve some of that pressure in a smooth manner, and to speed up simply apply more pressure. It takes a lot of getting used to, I came from driving a...

    Nag reduced with 2017.46

I have heard this from numerous Tesla drivers and employees. I'll get some first hand experience with this on the 1,000 mile drive home after taking delivery.

    S 75 non D RWD Uncorking

The easiest way is to floor it. Obviously that only works if you know what a sub 5 second car would feel like. The most certain way is to ask Tesla what your build date was. If it is after July 1st you're uncorked. You can also ask your OA if it was after the uncorking, and what your 0-60 is. If...
  28. nigelsilva

    S 75 non D RWD Uncorking

All S75s built after July 1st will do 0-60 in 4.3 seconds as stated by Tesla.
  29. nigelsilva

    Exactly one week until delivery...

Ahh that makes sense. I've had a loaner without tint and it's been brutal. The first thing the Model S will get when it returns to Florida is 15% all around. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be a cloudy day.
  30. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

Yeah that's still a great time for any car! Anything sub 5 seconds will still blow the doors off most cars on the road!
  31. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

The curve is what would have lead to it being so high. No car will be able to post a good time on a curve, and the battery at 60% sure didn't help.

    Exactly one week until delivery...

Well as the title states, I'm exactly one week out from delivery of my MS75. The car is ready to go at the Raleigh SC, I fly up on Dec. 1st. Time could not be going ANY slower! Stay tuned for a delivery thread, and in a few weeks an east coast road trip! FL --> NYC ;)

Oh boy, there is going to be some learning curve for model 3 owners

Most Model S owners are enthusiasts of some sort. Not many people go out and buy a Tesla without doing a fair amount of research. How many people thoroughly research a 328i and join owner forums, start showing up at enthusiast clubs and take ownership to another level? It's these same people who...

    Cannibalization of Model S sales

I like the analogy of the 3-series compared to 7-series. Nobody accused the 3-series (or even 5-series, a much more similar car to the 7) of cutting into 7-series sales. My guess is that we'll see buyers who purchase a base + one or two options Model 3 for around 40k instead of other entry level...
  36. nigelsilva

    Cannibalization of Model S sales

Unfortunately, even if this were the case, we won't be seeing Model 3s in the showrooms anytime soon. I'm not sold on the idea of Model 3 test drives giving incentive for people to upgrade to an S. If anything it will make the people waiting more impatient and excited, but for those who chose...
  37. nigelsilva

Oh boy, there is going to be some learning curve for model 3 owners

That is very true, I didn't think about that actually. I guess you could say it was "charging" at some point, which is a world better than parking in the spot and not plugging in. This is why I feel as if it a courtesy to leave a note with your cell # on the dash.
  38. nigelsilva

Oh boy, there is going to be some learning curve for model 3 owners

No questions are off limits! If you look on the right side of the car (from our view) just above the rear wheel you can see the cable plugged in to it.
  39. nigelsilva

Oh boy, there is going to be some learning curve for model 3 owners

Well.. This was almost as bad as the Ford that somehow managed to park at such a crooked angle they took up two Tesla spots at my local mall. I really hope they include some sort of document with delivery that explains proper etiquette. And shame on them for littering.
  40. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

I'm taking delivery of a RWD 75 exactly one week from today, could you clarify on what you're looking for? I don't understand what you mean by vehicle config.
  41. nigelsilva

    Cannibalization of Model S sales

Wow that's not a terrible price for a car still within warranty and only 76k miles.
  42. nigelsilva

    Black Friday Specials on Tesla

No worries! Many times people authorize their OA to purchase the car that fits their options on their behalf, and then notify them of it. This is due to the fact that when deals like this crop up, they don't often last long. If you're able to make the deadline, and KNOW you want a Tesla, see if...
  43. nigelsilva

    Cannibalization of Model S sales

Glad to hear you're happy with the decision! I think the Model 3 is perfect for someone looking to spend ~35-40k and wants a brand new vehicle with plenty of warranty, full electric, and on par with an entry level 3-series or c-class (320i/c300). For those of us that want more Tesla-specific...

    Black Friday Specials on Tesla

It IS possible! I got mine for $77,900 shipped straight from the factory, originally $80,000 MSRP. Incentives are mainly given based off of time, my car was built in August, but spent a couple months waiting to get shipped out. It has the typical 50 miles on it from the factory, and nothing...
  45. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

Ah I understand. The key difference with the battery was that it was reasonably well known that the 60 and 70 were just limited 75 packs. I highly doubt the real performance has changed from 4.4 to even above 5 seconds. You should set up a camera and see if you can film your 0-60, and use other...
  46. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

Do keep in mind that all they did was unlock the last 15kWh of battery in the 75 pack. All 60s, 70s, and 75s are built with the 75 pack. The update simply temporarily unlocked it. Getting more range out of say a 75 though, requires more than just an update.
  47. nigelsilva

    Cannibalization of Model S sales

I disagree, the model S has more technology, and a much more premium interior than the three. Interior styling on the Model S is much more advanced than the three. Also it is not double the price for the same car. In order to get a model 3 up to par with an S you're looking at several options...

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

Where are you seeing any S 75s on the website? I can't find info on them anywhere, but it was confirmed that 0-60 is actually 4.3 seconds I believe.
  49. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

That's very good to hear! I feel much more comfortable about my delivery now. Thanks for sharing.
  50. nigelsilva

    Model S 75 (RWD) leftovers now showing as 5.4 0-60 vs 4.3?

Where did you see it reported as 5.7s? I just checked the website and it states that new 75Ds do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. My rep mentioned that RWD was 0.1 second (negligible) slower to 60. I didn't see ANY new/used 75kWh batteries in the online portal. (They exist, the only people that have access...
