Exactly one week until delivery...

Did you purchase an inventory car that was already in Oregon or heading there? Or did you opt to take delivery there for another reason?
Sounds like that will be a great trip as well, I've always loved the Pacific Northwest.

It's a custom order, I just requested to have it sent to Portland for delivery. I originally wanted to do Fremont delivery but California/Texas sales tax shenanigans would make the car almost 10% more expensive. By taking delivery in Oregon where there is no sales tax I can side-step all of those issues, and I get to see the Oregon cost to boot.

I remember "The Wait". Other than the 72 hour window after ordering the car, and wondering if the expense is really worth it, I had almost put the purchase out of my mind. Well, until 3 weeks out when our DS and I arranged the delivery date/time. Then "The Wait" set in. At that point, my wife wasn't helpful at all in that she repeatedly asked me "are you looking forward to driving the Tesla?".

Granted, we've only had our S75D a week but the waiting is definitely worth it!!

Officially out of the understanding owners club as I have been informed for about 10 days running that the car is still not in Houston and the latest date is now Monday.

This misinformation and constant 'manana', no wait I meant two more days, no wait another two days service is just horrible.

Would like to remain in the appropriate 'going to the amusement park' fan club mentality but this is, well, bs :)

Sounds like fun!! How long from “your car is in production” until delivery?
I ordered inventory so it was simply a matter go when I could fly up.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your experience, that is definitely farm from ideal. I asked my OA about the way things are done in other areas with delivery a couple of weeks ago (since I picked up out of my region) and he said it really depends on the regional manager. Florida is very "white glove" about the whole operation. It wouldn't hurt to ask them for a loaner until you take delivery, that's what I did, and they were more than happy to give me one for a week.

UPDATE:

So I picked the car up yesterday and drove it 400 miles to Atlanta! I'm currently at the SC in Tifton, on my way down to Florida.
Other than the fact that both door mirror assemblies need to be replaced (malfunctioning) and that the car had 87 miles on it, with someone averaging 900kWh at one point somehow (really, wtf!!) the delivery went pretty well! I love the car and it's been an enjoyable trip back so far.

Think I would be upset.... how do they explain mileage and hot rodding ? Mirrors on order?

I was reasonably upset, I failed to get a clear explanation on mileage, the delivery specialist said that since I purchased inventory it could have been used for test drives, which doesn't make sense since it was purchased while in transit to the dealership, and was labelled as having less than 50 miles when we purchased it. Unfortunately I didn't notice the high consumption until right after I left the service center.. I asked my OA and he was very surprised, though said something along the lines of "I would assume it was for testing purposes" OK.. I'm under the impression that testing done in the factory (Dyno) is done in factory mode, and well before the car has 80+ miles on it. I wouldn't understand why this particular car either as it is not a P variant, simply a 75 RWD.

OA told me Friday my car had 6 miles on it. Making my check list.

Mine had 50 miles on it.

Reading all the posts here I almost feel like I've cheated. I took the test drive on Wednesday evening, then took delivery on Friday night. Almost no wait time :)

They offered to have mine ready by the upcoming Friday (I ordered on a Monday) but it was too soon to fly all the way up, and the next weekend was Thanksgiving so I had family in town. The wait kind of increased my anticipation!
