CPO Inventory down to 14 cars? How can this be?

I put my money down 2+ weeks ago, waiting to get the word my S85 is ready.

It was located in Brooklyn, and moved to the Milford, CT service center for inspection/reconditioning. I was assured by my CPO Advisor that this was a product of heavy workload in Brooklyn at the moment.

So maybe they've limited the visible inventory to give their SC staff a quick breather? If you're seriously in the hunt for a CPO, call. They can see more cars on their end than what's on the public site.

The first HW1 cars that went out on lease 3 years ago are beginning to come back in as trades now. There will be more soon.

Good luck!

Full inventory is not visible to anyone except delivery specialists and owner advisors (in terms of new/inventory). Same applies for CPO. If you start the process you'll find that they'll have more than 14 cars available. Just as if you go on the website and it shows little in the way of new inventory except for 100Ds. You can still purchase the 75 and 75D if you go through your local store.

While the US website shows no CPO's available the Canadian website has a good number and some decent deals. Has anybody tried to purchase a car in Canada and bring it to the states?

I believe this isn't possible one way or the other. It's either you can't bring Canadian cars to the US or the other way around, I can't remember which unfortunately. Might be both. It's worth looking into though! Might be possible for all I know.

Did a bit of research and apparently this is not a difficult process, especially with a Tesla since it automatically meets all US emissions standards.

It can however be expensive so the good deals I saw on the Canadian site would probably not turn out so good. You have to pay local sales tax when you purchase the vehicle, then a 2.5% duty to customs at the border, then you will need to pay sales tax again when you register the car in your home state.

Some of that may be avoidable (assuming Tesla cooperates), if they ship the car to a US location before completing the sale. For instance, they have a decent number of cars in Montreal which is a short distance from the NY border.

Just food for thought.
