The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

I don't know if they've made any progress on a permanent fix, but I took mine in last week and they replaced the shafts and seals and the issue is gone altogether. Dropped off at 10am and it was done around 3:00pm with parts they had in stock. I expect it to return again, but for now it's better...

New update broke stuff, rolled itself back

So I started the update on my Raven X, it ended up failing and the doors freaked out and wouldn't open until I recalibrated them. I tried again and it hung on the unpacking present screen. Tesla had me hard reboot and it got the car back to driveable state, but then the GPS broke and the car...

    2019.36.2.1 for Raven performance

It's included in the patch, just not for a % increase. Might need Ludicrous mode for it as it specifies it's a Ludicrous mode upgrade. Here's my patch notes:

    V10 32.11.1

Must be some major bug fix. Both my model X and model 3 popped the update within a minute of eachother, and I instantly checked Teslafi and nobody else had installed it. By the time my two were done, 150 people had installed it and we're up to 350 now. I've never had both cars pop an update at...

    V10 on the Model X

Nothing. On my Model 3 I can vent then the button changes to "Close" and I can, as expected, close them at that point. On the model X I clicked vent and it warned me "If you vent the window you will be unable to close them unless you do it from the car" or something of that nature. I vented it...

    v10 Vent?

So I got v10 on both my Model 3 and my Model X. On my model 3 I can vent and close the windows no problem. On the model X, I can vent the windows just fine but It warns me "If you vent the windows you won't be able to close them without doing it from inside the car" or something like that. Sure...

    Raven Model X 1/4 mile and 0-60?

I don't know what that video said because it's been deleted, but the X needs to be put in very low suspension as well. Not sure if the S needs that

    Model X P100D vs Model 3 Performance

I can’t speak for the P90D, but the X Performance (P100D raven) with Ludicrous is definitely faster than my P3D- even without warming the battery. I think at lower SoC the 3 might be a bit quicker, but anywhere over 50% the X definitely feels quicker if only by a bit.

Phoenix, AZ Model 3 Performance Questions

Awesome! As an owner of a Performance Model 3 with 18 inch wheels also in Phoenix, you won't regret it. Amazing car.
  12. CFrolander

    Price drop! Standard range gone.

If I configure the same car today that I purchased last month, it's still $3k more expensive than I paid for it. Plus I got an extra $1,875 on the tax credit. I feel for the people who got ludicrous recently and paid $20k for it, but there's been no wrong done to those of us who got the loyalty...

    Model X P100D vs Model 3 Performance

Not to me, especially since I've already got a 3 Performance as a fast car. I picked it up because it was free for previous X or S owners which was nice. If someone offered me $20k to take Ludicrous off my car I'd probably take it, but everyone's different so that one's totally up to you
  14. CFrolander

    Model X P100D vs Model 3 Performance

Yes I have the same vehicles, P3D- and X Performance with Ludicrous. Sport mode is definitely slower than the P3D-, it's about on par with my old X75D. P100D (Now just Performance) with Ludicrous on the Ludicrous setting feels very similar to the P3D-, but in my opinion it's just a bit faster...

    Raven only charges at 48A...

Oh interesting. That makes sense for the Model 3, but did they switch over the Model X and S to use these same 2x and 3x16 amp chargers? As far as I know, they are completely different form factors so I don't think they'd be using the same part, but there is a revision -C on the Tesla EPC that...
  17. CFrolander

    Raven only charges at 48A...

I think 72A is right where it should be. At least with US cars, the charging setup is made of 24Amp AC-DC Converters. There's space for three of them in the unit, but many cars only have two. That's why the charge rates are 48A (2x24A) or 72A (3x24A). In this video, timestamp of about 11...

  20. CFrolander

What does driving a P+L actually feel like?

So I feel well qualified to answer this because I drove an X75D for about 18 months, then just got my X P100DL a few weeks ago. I also have a Model 3 Performance for reference. So the X75D is fast, but it's not make-your-stomach-drop-and-head-cloud fast. It's weird but once you get to a certain...

Caution: Driving while firmware is updating

I was bringing in my groceries and left my Frunk open. An hour later I got an update notification and started the update not remembering the frunk was still open. It worked fine, but it seems about halfway through the car alarm started going crazy which was kind of annoying for both me and my...

    Is insane+ the new ludicrous?

Unfortunately this. Should display Ludicrous and Ludicrous+. I'd contact the Service Center and see what they can do to get that resolved. Some people seem to get that done quickly, while some people seem to have their case drag on for ages. Hoping you're the former!

    A/C Effectiveness in 5-seat configuration - Predictions?

So I did some searching on the Parts Catalog because I was curious and didn't really want to rip apart my Model X. Looks like there is only one A/C compressor no matter if you have rear A/C or not. There is, however, a different part number for the compressor. It looks like the compressor is...

What Exactly Does Sentry Mode Do On My Hw 2.0 Model X?

But they aren't, and he states so much, 2.5 does have an extra node. I know because I asked him myself: Sentry mode does not work It's a little more nuanced than that, however. AP 2.5 does the transcode on a core that 2.0 doesn't have, he does believe that Tesla could enable it if they rewrite...
  28. CFrolander

What Exactly Does Sentry Mode Do On My Hw 2.0 Model X?

If I'm not mistaken, it does everything that regular sentry mode does except for saving the files due to not having the spare hardware needed to transcode and save the data. It still watches the cameras, tags events, and even created a dummy file, but the file is empty because AP2.0 doesn't have...

    Charge Port Door Replacement Cost?

The part cost according to the estimate I received from a body shop was $125.00, assuming it was just that one part that was bad: Door,Charging Port LT 103854800F $125.00 I think there's another part number, 1038548-88-G that is the door + the mechanical and assembly parts and I would assume...

    Model X Graveyard

So I figured I'd start off by sharing my own sad story of our Model X 75D "OCISLY" named after the Space X's own Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship named: "Of Course I Still Love You". We picked her up in December '17 from the Dallas and put over 1,000 miles in two days driving her back to Phoenix...

    P100dl Or 100d

Are both of them pre-raven I'm guessing by the lifetime supercharging? In that case, P100DL all the way. $30k more car for $8k, so even though depreciation hits P100DL harder than the lesser trims, you've got a $22k "equity" (not really equity, but you know what I mean) in it right off the bat.

Is This A Good Inventory Deal For A P+l?

So if you pick up that new Model X, the only difference between it and your current are going to be the Ludicrous + range. It'll have the same MCU 2, same FSD featurs, same interior, etc. etc. You'll take quite a hit on trading in your '18 X75D and the new '19 P100D will depreciate significantly...

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

I just snipped and annotated this from the Tesla site. You can see the charge rates for the three charging methods. Yours will actually be about 10% higher than what's listed here because the new Raven motors are more efficient, so your speeds for the three ratings will be about 33, 27, and...
  37. CFrolander

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

Nope, that means that more than likely you're using the Mobile Charger that came with the vehicle. It's only rated to 32A and there's nothing you can do to increase it. You can charge at 40A if you use an older Gen 1 mobile charger, or at 48A if you use a Tesla Wall Charger, aka HPWC. The...

    Raven Model X 1/4 mile and 0-60?

So with the new PMSR motors we’ve seen the Model S with a slightly better numbers at the track. The model X went from 2.8 0-60 to 2.7 0-60 in the configurator. I’m wondering if anyone has had the chance to test this out at the strip or with a drag/vbox and see how the acceleration has changed...

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

No problem there. All new Teslas will show 50 miles on the paperwork because they don't know exactly how many miles will be on there. They might have to move it around the lot, move it to get detailed, pull it on and off the truck, or whatever. My cars on delivery had like 8, 13, and 16 miles on...

Upgrade to FSD cost after delivery

So I took delivery 6 days ago and my Wife didn't realize that traditional AP couldn't summon or do lane changes at all.
