Same here. Pretty quick for Tesla!

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Yea, I found the same thing. I couldn't set the date correctly until I changed the year first! This was on iOS. No idea why they need birthdate to send $$$. I hate giving extra info for companies to collect!!!

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Just got the following email from Tesla: Payout Available Congratulations on a successful year as part of a Tesla Virtual Power Plant! Your incentive payment for the 2023 season has been credited to your Tesla account within the Tesla App in the amount of $234.97. Please note that to collect...

I don't think anyone has been issued credit for 2023 as of yet. Unless anyone on here can confirm that they have received them.

In the Program Facts for SCE, looks like payment will be digita/ACH: https://www.tesla.com/support/energy/virtual-power-plant/sce#membership Guess we'll just have to see.

I didn’t participate last year, but looks like payment is via ACH, was a physical check sent out last year?

Woke up to no PV production - Error 36 - DC Arc Fault

I have first generation Tesla inverter. I had low coolant causing inverter shut down issues as well as Arc fault caused by connection issues on the panels. Each issue took a month each for Tesla service to come out to fix.

    X-Care Experiences

I no longer have my Model S, but am considering X-Care for my Lucid and Rivian once they get closer to warranty expiration. Seems like there have been good experiences on here.

VPP scheduled for today as well in So Cal. Mid 70's, not a cloud in the sky. Will take the extra $2/kWh

are insurance companies dropping folks with Tesla powerwalls?

Yep ... that just happened to me. I had to remove ALL plants that were adjacent to my house or I would have been canceled. And because I'm in a fire zone, I can't get any other HO insurance, so I had to do as the insurance company told me. My front yard is now a barren wasteland.
  13. T

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

… and another VPP scheduled right when tonigh’s ended. Discharge is definitely controlled so reserve is hit just as VPP ends.

Do you have a link or reference for that? My output total shows 10.2MWh for 2 year old system from the App

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

From a warranty perspective, does participating in VPP exclude unlimited warranty coverage for pushing stored energy to the Grid (as in VPP events)?? Where can you see aggregate throughput? Is that the sum of lifetime Discharged / Charged for the power wall in the app? If so, I'm already at...

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

I thought I read somewhere in the 50+ pages of this thread, that people who participated in VPP last year essentially got the amount they exported during VPP x dollar / kWH as payment back in March. All this nebulous calculation by the power companies really seems unnecessary as they will...

    Logged into TEG

I wonder if that wording excludes unlimited warranty coverage for pushing stored energy to the Grid (as in VPP events)?? Where can you see aggregate throughput? Is that the sum of lifetime Discharged / Charged for the power wall in the app? If so, I'm already at 21.7MWh for my 2 year old system.

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Yes, I have grid charging enabled

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Will be interesting to see if tomorrow’s behavior is the same. VPP is longer (4-9pm). Battery discharge level should be lower than today’s. My 2x PW got down to 8% by the end of today‘s VPP event, had reserve set to 0%

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Same here in So Cal. Battery is charging from the grid at 10kw

    Hurricane Hilary

Yea, I opted out. Rain isn’t going to arrive until late Saturday. Stormwatch was far too early. I can manage battery level myself

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

I actually got a notification at 12:45 today stating that an event would occur from 6 - 9 pm today. System is keeping the PWs at 100% at the moment
  23. T

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

That’s not the case for SCE to my knowledge
  24. T

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Same with 2 powerwalls. Had to set reserve to 5% and turn off AC to get maximum. Charging the powerwalls back up to 50% from the grid and cranking the AC. A little notice would have been nice.
  25. T

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Yes, I got an SCE alert about 1 minute before VPP notification from Tesla.
  26. T

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

My second VPP event with 1 minute notice. Had to set battery to 5% so I could export.

Will California and West see Storm Watch in the next few days (2022-12-29)?

No storm watch in IE … had to manually control reserve level and charge from grid … been getting measly solar output

App live display of Powerwall power flows off line today?

And I got a downgrade as well. Guess Tesla figures that FW as FUBAR
  31. T

App live display of Powerwall power flows off line today?

Yup, called support and confirmed that .36 broke this. Amazing quality verification of the FW! I asked to be downgraded, he said it would take a few hours. Nothing yet. Web interface is correct, and settings can’t be adjusted via app, but no power flow data in app.

    Powerwall Charging Issue

Bump. Anyone else seeing this? My max PW charge keeps getting lower and lower. Now down to 89%. I left the system in off grid mode and the system switched back to on grid when the PWs got to 34% with very low late night load (no AC).
  33. T

    Powerwall Charging Issue

Well, my issues continue to get more strange. I now see that PV is being pushed to both PW and grid while in self powered mode, reserve set to 20% and not enabled VPP. Yesterday I found that the PW would only charge to 94% even if I set reserve to 100% and that after sundown, I had a constant...

    Powerwall Charging Issue

Chatted with support ... they told me that they need to escalate to Tier 2 support before anything could be done and to determine next steps... will take 15 to 20 business days for them to get back to me! Typical piss-poor level of Tesla support.
  35. T

    Powerwall Charging Issue

I am finding that when the SOC of my 2x PWs is low (less than 40% or so) any brief amount of charge, will cause the charge level to jump. You can see that in 15 min of grid charging (~3.3kW), that the SOC reported percent jumped from 10% to 56%, afterwards the charge rate then will appear...

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

That's why I adjust the charge rate from the Tesla app to match my solar excess once my PWs are full. When I need to charge, I'd rather have excess PV go to the vehicle instead of the grid!

New Powerwall Advanced Options [Toggles for charging from and discharging to grid from powerwalls]

Still no export option for me even after going through the dance. That's OK for now as I export more than enough. I'm using Grid charging right now as there was very little solar today in SoCal. Wanted to get my PWs back up to at least 80% before 4-9pm max SCE rate kicks in. With Grid...

New Powerwall Advanced Options [Toggles for charging from and discharging to grid from powerwalls]

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

I just received the SCE survey as well ... this is complete BS if it ends up going through. I gave a scathing review of the letter and feedback that NEM3 is a terrible idea ... but SCE (and other electric companies) are the ONLY ones that benefit.

Max rebate from SCE at true-up?

I believe this is the case. Completely agree! As it gets closer to True-Up, I should put my place on PlugShare! But it does suck that NBCs are applied to that banked power at just about the same rate! I’ll probably just stop charging at work so I can eat into my credits. I’ll be getting more...

Max rebate from SCE at true-up?

I am in month 10 of my first year with SCE. On my latest bill I see the following: Additional information regarding your Net Consumption/Generation: · Your year-to-date energy charges total as of previous month: -$35.51 · Your current month energy charge total: -$126.01 · Your year-to-date...

    22.1.2 Update

That has happened to me multiple times. My system takes updates essentially mid day! I don't know why they don't update at night. So far, so good with 22.9.1 for me. Previous problem has gone away!

    22.1.2 Update

There was no log, but when it started happening, I was sent a notification by Tesla. But worth bringing it up with Tesla.
  45. T

    22.1.2 Update

Is your inverter outdoors in direct sunlight? I had a problem right after install where the coolant level in the inverter was low (as shipped) and caused my system to have dips in the heat of the day. The dips were for around 10 min or so at a time until the system cooled down and recovered...

    Screen Yellowed, Again?

I brought mine in for a UV treatment and they ended up replacing the screen. It was already replaced previously the first time the border yellowing happened a couple of years ago. If your vehicle is still under warranty push for a repair or replacement!

Tesla: we need more control over our PowerWalls

I just started automating my Powerwall/Grid behavior using my Hubitat and Powerwall Manager. Works great, but it does require you to already have a Hubitat device that is used by many for home automation! https://hubitat.com...
