    DIY Front Parking sensor repair

Sorry I don’t check this forum often anymore so I didn’t see your question. To access that front sensor, I removed the frunk and was able to slither my arm in a gap between the hood latch and front bumper assembly. The sensor that was pushed in is connected to a harness so you generally won’t...

thoughts on Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus Elect for Model 3?

I've had the 19" Pirelli P Zero AS+ Elects on my LR Model 3 for a littler over 1700 miles and I'm happy to report that I'm getting around the same 258kw/h efficiency as with the stock Continental ProContactRX (efficiency might be affected by the Ikon Motorsport lip and mud guards but they were...

Rear Camera Failure. Latest Fix Info? Sleep Length?

I started getting the rear black screen after a software update a few versions back. Definitely software related. The way I get it to fix is to go to Service -> AP camera calibration - clear calibration. As soon as it begins the process of re-learning the rear view is restored. You’ll need to...

    How to reduce road/wind noise?

Can’t tell any difference really. The range hit I got from putting on Yokohama yk740gtx’s was WAAY worse. Of course I went back to the Continentals.

    How to reduce road/wind noise?

As mentioned in previous posts, stuffing a black rubber tube in between the windshield and pillar will diminish the air flowing thru that channel, but it wasn’t until recently when I installed the Ikon Motorsports front lip, somehow the lip is changing the airflow around the front and side of...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

When I installed mine, I re-used the original fasteners on the end by putting in the bottom piece directly on the fender lining, and then snapping in the fastener over the lip. It doesn’t go in deep but it does “click” and hasn’t fallen off yet. It’s held up well and I’ve driven about 5,600...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

Does it seem like the wind noise around your head/A-pillar has gone away since installing the lip? I have the rubber tubing between my windshield drain channel to prevent excess air from flowing thru the crease, but it wasn’t until after I installed the lip that the turbulent wind noise on the...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

Here is a short clip that I have of when I had the front bumper separated from the tray.

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

I thought that too initially, but that’s not where it’s supposed to go. You need to separate the undertray from the front bumper and attach the clips to the bumper. It took a bit of force to separate it and you need to remove all of the clips underneath and 3 retainer clips along the side of...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

the PP does have the double-sided tape and it sticks really well along the frontal portion, but the rounded tapered section towards the back had a bit of a minute gap but doesn’t really affect the look or performance. I just went on a 600 mile round trip weekender to Vegas and the front lip...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

I too will plan on upgrading to the CF if I feel the PP doesn’t go thru catastrophic damage from my daily driving. I decided to keep it the stock plastic color as any paint job will chip unless I ppf wrap it.. At that point the cost will be the same as the matte CF version. They do offer free...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

The guy I spoke to didn’t have any insight if it was planned or not. I ended up keeping and installing the PP version because it does have more bend to it, and I wouldn’t be so heartbroken if I crack or damage the more expensive CF...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

They offer curb-side pickup if you arrange it via Instagram Messenger. I was able to test fit the matte CF lip because it so happened to be there, most likely from a return as they usually don’t carry the matte one since it’s practically made to order.

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

I ordered the PP version of the Ikon lip and picked it up locally in Hacienda Heights a couple days ago. While I was there, I had the chance to test fit a matte carbon lip and it does have a very good fitment. The carbon version is still different than the PP in that it doesn’t have the wrap...

IKON Motorsports Front Lip for Model 3: A Review

What did Ikon say about your matte fitment? I am considering this as well. From what I can see from your front photo, the lip is shifted to the drivers side ever so slightly. If you reposition the lip then the gap will be smaller, albeit on both sides rather than one..

    Dedicated Pearl White Picture Thread

2018 LR with 66k miles on it. Recently treated myself to a satin powdercoat upgrade on the wheels and installed a red seat cover kit to spice things up inside. My brother had some extra fluorescent film that look like PIAA ion crystal lenses so trimmed some for the lower foglights.

New Yokohama YK740 GT’s on my 19” wheels

Update: After driving on the YK740's for 3.5 weeks, I made the decision to go back to the stock Continental ProContactRX. I drove around 1500 miles on the tires with barely any wear, but I came to the conclusion that the tire was way to soft and eating into my Kw/h efficiency. I explained to...

New Yokohama YK740 GT’s on my 19” wheels

I’ve driven about 1000 miles on these tires after picking them up from AmericasTire. I was on the original Continentals for 61k miles, and they weren’t even bald. I can’t decide if I like these tires or not? The ride is smooth and quiet but im seeing some really weird kw/h usage. Even after...

Stock tires wearing faster than expected?

Just passed 57k on the OEM Continental ProContacts. They aren't bald but they are even with the wear bars. I really can't decide what tires to go with next, or wheels for that matter... I'm leaning towards Michelin Pilot Sport..

    DIY Front Parking sensor repair

Forgot to update about the repair job: the double-sided tape did not hold for longer than a couple days after it started raining and temperature fluctuations caused the piece to come off. I ended up using a two-part epoxy glue and it hasn’t come off since.

Not sure, but I don’t think it would be covered as there might be a broken bracket they charger for, or even a faulty sensor, which could be costly.

    DIY Front Parking sensor repair

So I had the unfortunate luck of hitting tire debris on Friday morning driving down the freeway, and the rubber chunk the size of a golf ball hit my bumper just to the left of my front passenger side parking sensor. I immediate was warned by the system on my dash that the sensor was obstructed...

Just passed 50k miles on the OEM 19" Continentals

Yes definitely, I feel like the steering wheel has to be turned slightly to the left, I mean just a hair, to keep center.

Very true! The roads and freeways I take are on the better side of the spectrum.

Just passed 50k miles on the OEM 19" Continentals

I haven't done an exact measurement, but the inside is wearing a bit faster than the outside tread (observing at 50k miles). I don't recall any uneven wearing at 12k or 24k. Here is a picture of my front left tire:

Just passed 50k miles on the OEM 19" Continentals

I am averaging 256wh/mile, I think that is on the higher end? It's probably because the drive between Laguna Niguel and Carlsbad has barely any traffic so I'm always going 80-85mph on that stretch, that doesn't help efficiency. When I'm crawling on the 405 2 days of the week at 15mph for good...

    Tesla insurance.

I too just switched from Geico to Tesla Insurance. After my 6 month introductory rate, I was paying $248/mo with Geico. With the same coverage, I am only paying $150/mo with Tesla. It was a no brainer for me.

Just passed 50k miles on the OEM 19" Continentals

I'm surprised that I have just hit my wear bars in the center treads of my original Continental ProContact RX's, and I've put on 50, 965 miles on my LR RWD. I rotated the tires twice, once at 12k miles, then at 25k miles, and haven't rotated them since. I do drive more like a Prius driver, and...

Car and Driver suffers Model 3 failure on 12/25, but car told them about it remotely

My 07/2018 build LR RWD is at 45.5K and besides the glove compartment opening frequently due to a bad latch early on and a left rear axel nut clicking that needed to be tightened, I haven’t had any problem with my car (knock on wood). I’m sure I am bound to run into an issue somewhere down the...

Autosteer is not beta, very much alpha

THIS.. OP, auto steer isn’t meant for you to relax and do other things while you are using that driver aid. If you count out 15 seconds, that’s plenty of time to stop your car or make some kind of rational human decision to react to your environment. I understand your perspective as a...

    Red light on Tesla Charger

No credit card slot that I saw for those, and it was in a poor state. One cord was severed and a non-ev was parked there. Hopefully they are fixed now. There were 2 or 3 in the parking lot I was at, but it could have been some other one than the one you’re thinking of?

    Red light on Tesla Charger

There is a Tesla Supercharger in a parking complex in downtown SD, about a mile away from the Westin: 350 Sixth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101 You can gauge availability and charge there.. I must say I am very impressed with the quality and preciseness of the cuts. Everything laid down perfectly and with ease. The 3M 1080 film is so easy to work with and I was able to complete the driver mirror without any errors or issues. The videos are very helpful.

    Model 3 MUD Guards

I installed the same ones and they look great and function even better! I already notice little to no grime on my body where there used to be. Right before I installed the mudguards, a small rock damaged a section of the bumper. Fortunately the mudguard covered that portion so I definitely...

PSA-Front trunk (frunk) unlatched while driving

To preface, I never had a problem with my hood but they performed this anyway when I took the car in for the rotation.

PSA-Front trunk (frunk) unlatched while driving

No parts replacement needed. They inspected and re-seated the latch assembly according to some TSB. It was a fairly quick visit as I was there for a tire rotation and they took care of it at the same time.

PSA-Front trunk (frunk) unlatched while driving

FYI: there is a TSB for this. If you take your Tesla in for service, they will perform this fix.
