I actually didn't go for the March FSD offer for this reason. If they can't get my my badge 9 months after delivery, I have a hard time believing they will have new chips installed in a reasonable time frame.

I still don't know of any other car company that would do this. If you take a look at just about any other in demand vehicle, waiting 6-9 months gets you a steep discount at the dealership. This is exactly what happened with the P3D.

The average sales price for a F-150 is over $50K. High end sales are huge. Ford makes 20-30K Ford F-150 Raptors per year. 90% of these retail for well over $70K. With fuel savings $80K is not far off the mark.

It seems like there will be zero communication on the subject until a software release that may never happen. The lack of communication is really frustrating. I really can't imagine them having the logistic capabilities to deliver an after purchase performance package though.

I agree with most of your points, but we don't really have a handle on the heat issues on the Model 3. There is likely an effect, but there are certainly disabling heat effects in Internal Combustion vehicles.

How often do you check the mileage on your app? Do you use any third party apps?
