HV Battery replacement for the 2nd Time in 14 months

Sure, verifiable after the fact. I would be beyond pissed off if were expecting full range restored with the referb pack and got anything less. Pretty sure Tesla would then tell you pound sand if you then opted for the new pack. I’d like to see this in writing, I wouldn’t trust Tesla’s...

HV Battery replacement for the 2nd Time in 14 months

You know, i had this very conversation when I was in the SC shop for my MCU1 upgrade. I asked specifically should I ever have to replace the HV battery pack what are my options which he replied there are two. He went on to say the difference in the referb vs new cost was a couple thousand...

MCU1 to MCU2 upgrade due functionality issues

I just paid the $1500 and upgraded. Tried arguing this is another failed emmc chip event after the recall repair. They had no explanation for the issue. And yes, I was 1 month outside my warranty as well…go figure.

MCU1 to MCU2 upgrade due functionality issues

My MCU1 (2015 P85D) has been acting funny lately; screen freezing, spontaneous reboots, sluggish performance. Other than longer load times, NAV worked fine along with voice commands. One might think it was a failing emmc chip but alas it is not—Tesla performed a warranty repair replacing the...

Is the 12v battery a warranty item under the New Car Warranty?

I have a 2015 P85D that I purchased used through Tesla a few years ago. The 12V battery was just replaced a month or so ago after a warning flashed up on the drive screen—fixed under Warrenty and no charge to me.

    P100D, SOLAR, PG&E Rate Plans

Yes. You can get an hourly download of your data, but I believe it’s based on a net usage, so if you have solar it will skew the data some or so I recall.

This is a $hit ton of work to get to...or so it seems. Forward Junction Box (Remove and Replace) I think the gen1/2 dc/dc removal was by far Simpler.

    Tesla insurance!

Ha! I just tried to shop AF for a qoute and they don’t offer policies here in Cali—I don’t blame them. Between Musk and the politics, everyone is half crazy here. As for USAA, not a bad deal...getting a Free check when you canceled your policy. They sort of treat their members like...

Opinions / Thoughts on Model S CPO Purchase

Oh man...I’m excited for you. That car will be bad ass...! make sure you post up the whole car purchase or driveway experience. Most only complain about the bad but would be nice to hear the good too. here’s mine... Well, I did it...made the CPO plunge for a 2015 P85D!

Opinions / Thoughts on Model S CPO Purchase

I think you did fine—you’ll really enjoy the new ride. If you’re into "keep up with the Joneses" then by all means take a hit on this depreciation and spend another $125K+ later. Unless something changes dramatically I don’t see the added cost worth changing out your new ride anytime...

    Choosing NEW vs. CPO HELP!

From an online source... “The AP1 hardware is limited to only one forward-facing camera and radar, while AP2 have eight cameras surrounding the vehicle for full 360 vision. so....some Model S will be out of WARRANTY soon *battery pack pricing

Spot on...! Can you image paying $20k for a cobbled together used pack with some limited warranty, just to have it fail again. Too much money for a used pack with less than original warranty. This just might be the ploy they are embracing to generate new car sales.

Should I avoid cars with 85kwh packs?
