HV Battery replacement for the 2nd Time in 14 months

UPDATE: So I just got an update that my car is finished and it appears as though I have been upgraded to a 90kwh battery. It also does not say refurbished. Of course I got the paperwork after they closed today so I have no other information. They also replaced 12v battery and cooling rapid mate which wouldn't be under warranty normally but no charge this time I guess all being related to the battery issue.

Ask for the warranty document to make sure the warranty is actually 4 years on a refurb battery
The warranty on a refurbished pack is 4 years, if you pay for it. (So if you pay for a refurb pack after your battery warranty expires.) But if your battery is replaced under warranty, your original expiration date applies to the replacement. (Even if that is only for 1 more day.)

So.... what's the paperwork say? What part #

Haven't picked it up yet but it says 165 miles at 55% on my app. More to come I'm sure.
what does it say at the bottom? is it still 75d?
when my car was in the shop i caught it saying 90d, but when i picked it up it went back to 85d

165 miles at 55% would mean 300 miles at 100%
looking good so far, definitely keep the unicorn thats the new battery :D
mine charged to 304 miles when it got uncorked, however it only goes to 292 just a few short months later.

For now I have full use of the 90kwh pack. However, as many of ypu have said, the warranty is just for the remainder of my original warranty. They did tell me the pack would have cost 17,500 plus the 12v and the coolant part they replaced. Would have been over 18000. So in that respect I'm lucky. And better range. They said the range shouldn't change. They also said the pack was refurbished. But it was likely just the "crate" that was reused. However I don't have faith in his opinion lol.

this is why folks should never accept the refurb option when out of warranty (no choice when under warranty). The "refurb" battery is simply a used battery with old cells that come from a battery pack that was repairable
You know, i had this very conversation when I was in the SC shop for my MCU1 upgrade. I asked specifically should I ever have to replace the HV battery pack what are my options which he replied there are two.

He went on to say the difference in the referb vs new cost was a couple thousand dollars (i.e. $14k vs $16k or so)

He went in to explain that they now use new cells in the referb packs and the only difference is the metal encasement is all new with the new option.

First time I’ve ever heard this. Wonder how true it really is…?

Isn't that verifiable by rated range?
New cells should give close to new but many ppl reported same or weaker range, ie old cells...

Sure, verifiable after the fact. I would be beyond pissed off if were expecting full range restored with the referb pack and got anything less.

Pretty sure Tesla would then tell you pound sand if you then opted for the new pack.

I’d like to see this in writing, I wouldn’t trust Tesla’s word on anything…

yeah nah... it's not true. Hopefully someone here can chime in about their range and supercharger rates with a recent refurb battery. The new pack has supercharging rates around 140kw and range of 300miles

This is completely fabricated. Anyone with a reman battery can confirm that they definitely don’t have the range that new cells would imply and generally have the same limitations as the old batteries (slow supercharging etc).

UPDATE: Returned from Vacation to find Green Coolant leaked all over the driveway and low coolant error. I haven't heard back from Tesla regarding the issue submitted yet. Cars fully charged at 318, about a 100 mile upgrade from the previous battery. This doesn't bode well for my comfort level of this repair needless to say. Being 2 hours away from the shop, makes it hard to just take the car in. will update when i know more...not that anyone is sitting on the edge of their seats lol.

Should be blue coolant...
Good news is its not leaking inside battery, most likely coolant quick connect leaking, seems to be failing during battery swaps sometimes...

After looking over my car they deemed I needed a new radiator and were going to charge me 400.00 for the repair...Upon asking a few more questions, this was the response I received from the Service center...

Ok! Thank you again for your communication with me--in discussion with
my service manager, we believe that the replacement of the Rapid Coolant
Mate during the HV Battery replacement (which is not unusual in HVB
replacement for this model), the fresh seal of the Rapid Coolant Mate caused
higher pressure in the coolant system (not unusual pressure, but enough to
strain weakened or worn components) and the higher pressure strained the
Radiator and essentially caused one its seams to "burst." This explains why
it took some time to happen as well because while the vehicle was sitting at
your home, the system still ran the coolant to maintain cabin temp/battery
temp/conditioning, etc. I have instructed the technician to proceed with
the radiator's replacement and to be vigilant of any other components or
hoses that appear weak and to notify me if any are identified and if not, to
thoroughly test following installation. I am changing the pay-type coding to
Goodwill.
