I am glad that Tesla won the contract.

I am disappointed in two areas.

#1- That Tesla isn't getting a contract to install a 300 MWhr system.

#2- Australia is also spending $360M to install a 250MWe fast-reacting gas turbine Power Plant.

The Power to Energy ratio of this new system in South Australia is much higher than others that have come before it. Therefore the available full power runtime is low. That is actually a good match for a "fast reacting" gas turbine. It will ensure that the full power is available from the battery system to ensure grid stability while not leaving the turbines running at low to no load as spinning reserves.
