20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

Morning all. Just adding to the thread. This thread helped me purchase a used set of 20" slipstream wheels off a Model X. I used all the context here to find a setup on eBay. Not in love with the rear tire size (275/40 20), but I will rock this until it's time for new tires. Here are all the specs: Staggered 9/9.5" ET 35/40. Tires 245/40 20; 275/40 20. Will probably go to a 275/35 20 in the rear eventually. The current setup has zero rub issues. Drives awesome. Love it! Thank you to all the contributors in this thread, as I was intently looking for a oem looking package with an aggressive stance (2016 MS)

Here are some pictures and a video to help with anyone looking for as much info as possible.

It's not taller.. stock 21" setup is pretty much same diameter.

Also I think there is perhaps some GPS trickery involved in the speedometer? I have never noticed any error and I have been using many sizes.
Check your tire sizes with one of the many web calculators.

The model X 20" in the rear is 275/45 20 which yields a 29.7" tall tire.
The model S stock 19" in rear is 285/40 19 which yields a 27.98" tall tire

The error would be small which you may not notice not looking for it, but you can check against Waze or other gps speed app on your phone.

I wonder if Tesla auto calibrates its speedometer with its own GPS, but then it does have that wheel selection toggle in the service menu which would seem to be to account for the slight variation in tire sizes on those wheels.

Ah. I didn't realize you were comparing to the stock X tires. Those surely are too tall. But I don't think anyone is using those in S? It would look funny and probably wouldn't even fit.

Most folks here are using 245/40 20" front and 275/40 20" rear. Some have 275/35 or 285/35 rears.

275/40-20" diameter: 28.7"
285/35-20" diameter: 27.9"

Stock 21" setup is 265/35-21" which is 28.3"...

Hey I finally joined this thread FR… my Tesla SC wouldn’t do this but the discount tires in Normal came through.

Great information on this thread. Currently I have 19 inch slipstreams on my MS, with 25mm spacers on rear and 15mm on front.

Question- is it worth updating to a 20” slipstream MX wheel? Not sure if it will be noticeable vs my 19 MS slipstreams.
