200 miles review: Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4

Update on my efficiency this season running 265/40 Pilot Sport AS4's with 18x9.5 wheels. I drive about 95% highway due to my commute and cruise is always set to 80 - 85.

How in the world are you getting 260 wh/mile at 80-85 mph! Especially on these pilots? Is it even possible? I have the same tires and at 85 I average like 330wh/mile (2021 LR model 3). Are you sure you are cruising 80-85? If so, what is your secret my friend?

I share your astonishment at those numbers particularly with 265 tires. I couldn't get within spitting distance of those consumption numbers (although I have 275 on the rear but 265s on the front) unless I put a sail on the car and pushed it downhill.

This is the last 7 months on the 265's. 261 wh/mi over 16,958 miles. Before temps dropped last month I was at 252 wh/mi. Sub 50 degrees and my highway efficiency is 280 to 310. I am due for another set in the spring when they go back on. I got about 32k miles on the 265's.

Michigan is pretty flat which helps. My commute for work is 45 miles one way and mostly highway. The rest is 50mph country roads. I run 42psi and alignment is +.1* toe front and rear and -1.6* camber front and rear dropped just below MPP recommended height.

I echo the comments earlier as to how you get 260s wh/m? Seems impossible! I have 19s, AFF7s, that are less than 21lbs, dressed in 245/40 PS 4 AS and I have not gotten below 290 wh/m here in WA. The summers are nice and even then I wasn't getting 260 wh/m on average. That's not even close to driving 80mph. This is on a 2019 LR AWD model 3. I'd be happy to get 275 on these. In the winter, I put on the OEM 18s and Nokian R3 Winters. That's about 300 wh/m average plus in the winter.

Just for comparison, I have the pilot all season, size 265/35-19 on an aftermarket wider rim and get avg 285 wh/mi. and a consistent 330 wh/mi on the flat lands at 75mph. On long long trips, navigation has me stopping every 2 hours for 20 minutes (Interstate 5 in California, many superchargers) in the 2023 RWD.
That's using more battery molecules than my avg 250 wh/mi I got on stock 18 inch mxm4s.
So worth it though. Our gas is cheap and these tires are great!

Which Model 3 is this? I averaged 229 wh/mi in a 2022 Model 3 Performance with the new 235/45/18 Hankook iON EVO AS tires on 18x8.5 T Sportline TS5 wheels in October.

However, I slipped all the way down to 241 wh/mi in November because I went to the track this weekend.
