2018 Model 3 LR RWD with 970 Rear Motor

Hi All,

I have seen some threads about Model 3 rear motors. Apparently, there are 3 types of rear motors on a Model 3; 970, 980, and 990.

I have a 2018 LR RWD VIN 31,XXX with a 970 motor.

What are the differences between these motors in terms of performance and efficiency?

I have a 970 motor too. Vin 31xxxx confirmed by Tesla. 2018 model LRAWD.

I'm not sure what I had before, but the rear drive unit in my mid-2018 LR/RWD was just replaced with 1120980-00-J.

These would be the only 2 reports I can ever recall seeing of the 970 coming in anything other than the MR/SR RWD versions of the car....and when the 970 first appeared in the catalog (which was VERY late 2018) it was listed as ONLY for use in MR and SR vehicles.
