2018 Non Autopilot people, should we buy AP for $2000 before next Monday?

We acquired our Model LR RWD August 2018 and did not purchase AP or FSD. For one thing we live on Oahu Hawaii so not much long range driving is required unless you commute regularly to the west side to and from downtown. Secondly, the road markings here are horrendous and we tried the "trial AP" once and it was scary when the car got confused with the lane markings. Frankly in my opinion, the basic AP should be a standard feature, many other cars have it included. Feel like Tesla was nickel and diming and now they say they highly recommend the AP for safety reasons. Well if that's the case they should just include it. And to be fair to those that spent money for it, maybe provide super charging credits (although Hawaii has yet to have a supercharging station) etc... thoughts?

I'm def going to pull the trigger on AP for 2K before 7/1. With rumors of a FSD subscription, I won't be purchasing FSD, but I'm def interested in purchasing a FSD subscription in the future.
