Someone have not properly set the door card back on the frame. Better take it apart and try to set the rear section of the window rail back into the correct slot. Find someone to help as the currently wrong placement is holding the edge back to be fitted correctly, so needs two person to fix. You will also find some of the clips on the door card broken, so if you have SeC close by then just drive by and ask for a bag. They are quite cheap, one can buy over the counter.

I have something similar happen - occasionally (maybe 3 times in the past year) when closing the door it will separate a little towards the back. I give it a good whap with my palm and it reseats. I think the clips got loose when I had the handle replaced. I will ask them about it one of these days when I have it in for service.

Tesla's service tech came out and removed the inner panel, he said the clips were bent. He repaired or replaced the clips and put the inner panel back in place and pressed hard to snap it into position. Now there is no abnormal gap. I suspect the clips were bad from day 1 and the door gradually started to pull away from the window seating. No charge--under warranty.
