2021 Model Year Refresh: Owners' Thoughts?

Good to see some of the OG "Model S Delivery" forum on here. This "No Steam" thing has gotten under my skin. I am having a back and forth with Tesla about it with little consideration (filed with bbb). Any positive information on a retrofit not costing $2000?

Problem is .. if pushed .. they can make those games run, terribly, on 8GB, just to satisfy the lawyers. There's really no point. Not giving them a pass, but I bet they simply couldn't get RAM. They only said "console like gaming" or something like that, but they didn't say which console or specs or FPS to expect, etc. Competition will fix this and it's coming. I'm a loyal customer, love our Teslas, but agree 100% they gotta stop the shenanigans.

The free-retrofit guy no longer reply. Tesla in CA won’t honor the free retrofit.
So far no one gets the free retrofit except him. Some group members will go small claim

Sorry, I meant update about the 16GB retrofit.
Thanks for the replies. That’s really annoying. I enjoy playing games in the car waiting to pick the kids up from school. But not for $2k to play steam. Bad enough our car values dropped by $20k from the price drop. Is what it is though. New iphone next year right? Haha

I doubt this will amount to anything, but I’m taking some of the points of this thread and sent it off to [email protected], which they request with a 60 day period to attempt to resolve it before arbitration / legal disputes.

Worth a shot. I tried in early 2022 and the best Ingot was repurchase at trade in value - big loss. Lemon law didn’t work either. Just a lot of frustration and ever growing distaste for the brand.

Let me know how it goes. I’m happy to join in if it helps. Last week I tried opening a service request about it to see what they say and was just told the retrofit is not available yet with no timeline.
