265 vs 255

Trying to decide between 265/35/19 and 255/40/19 tires on 19x9.5 wheel. Couple of questions, has anyone experienced both and if so could you give your thoughts. Is the efficiency difference between the two negligible? I will be using mountain pass comfort to lower on either setup but I know I could be less low with the 255 setup. I was thinking on going with continental Dws06 plus tires. If anyone has any input I would be much appreciative.

255/40 is +2.3% on the diameter over factory spec, which is a little bad.

265/35 is at -0.4% percent which is great. So between those I would go with the 265, supposing it fits with your particular wheel. Which wheel?
Jova 19x9.5 +33 going on a m3lr. It looks like most put 265, with very few 255. Do you think there will be much difference going 265 vs 255 in range hit?

Here you go, the wheels are 19x9.5 +33 with a 5mm spacer in the rear. The next thing on my list is to install my mmp coils. But until then I think it looks decent.

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow and apologies I don't yet have my Apex 19x9.5 wheels yet which the OP originally requested (hoping next week), but I did put a set of Pirelli Snowsport tires my father had left over from his Tiguan. To answer the question directly, I personally have decided to go with 265/35 tires on the new wheels I ordered in the 19x9.5 size.

In the interim, I ran my '21 M3 LR on the OEM optional 19s all winter with 255/40 tires and saw hardly any range difference. I am also running MPP sport coilovers and can barely get a finger between tire and the wheelwell, with a 15mm front and 20mm rear spacer with zero rubbing at all. I may raise it a tad once the new wheels go on as the car seems to have settled a tiny bit.

Did you get it lowered? If yes did it tuck in the wheels so they dont poke out? I am looking to buying wheels with same spec but in DK tires/wheels are not allowed to poke out. So i am looking for a flush fit :)
I have 10mm spacer in the rear and 5mm spacer in the front and I don't have to worry about rubbing. It's pretty flush. I would give you a close up picture but I have my winter wheels on right now. If I were to make these wheels again I would make the offset +28 and only use a 5mm spacer in the rear.

Thanks. I just ordered JR-SL01 in 19x9.5 +35 but I am also putting on 265/35 tires. And lowering it with Eibach pro kit. I hope that will be a flush fit. Maybe with a 5mm spacer in the rear.
