7 seat option for Y

Can a current model Y be retrofitted to accommodate the 7 set option. If so, would $3000 be the Cost?

If the hitch is a $1000 option when ordering your MY and $1200 if added afterwards, why would the 3rd row seats be the same price for both scenarios? More likely $3500 or more if added after purchase, but who knows if that is even possible. I do not recall ever seeing any 3rd row seats for MS or MX being offered for sale and installation after the car had been delivered. Did I miss that? Pretty sure if you want the 3rd row you will be placing a new order...

No. It is an option during the order process. Just like buying a Performance model.

They didn’t even offer MS 3rd row retrofits and those were relatively simple.

Retrofits will not be available directly from Tesla.

You need a new second row as well to make it the same, it slides forward on the 7 seat model

Plus the new wiring for the 3rd row USB.

No way it would be $3k. New second row seats, third row seats, wiring, arm rest/trim panels in the trunk area, and likely different suspension to start with.

My guess is it would be cheaper to trade in and buy a new one.

I can't see how/why they'd make it an available retrofit. As MP3Mike noted, the changes are extensive.

The answer is “no”.

There are several structural differences and the entire 2nd row is completely different.
