They seem to be the same price (at least on Tesla Canada), so why would anyone choose the 8.5' over the 18'?
Thanks

I wasn't aware that the Gen 3 had two different cable length options now. Disregard most of what I said previously about Gen 2 HPWC as it's not applicable. The new Gen3 offers you the choice of 8.5' or 18' at the same price. I don't see why anyone would get the shorter cable either. I have the longer cable, and the wall connector is running fine at maximum rated power 48A. No problems.
I try to do that also but the loops have a mind of their own and want to be free.I loop about 9 feet around the wall connector. The distance from the floor to the connector allows for one long 8 -9 foot link with the remaining cable. I grab the power plug and plug it in. I unplug it and put it over the connector. No tangle, no fooling with the extra 9 feet. Useable length stays in the one loop from the floor to the connector -- no mess or tangles.

Looks nice. This works great for my Gen2 HPWC - I just attached a water hose rack below the wall charger to neatly loop the longer cable.

Looks nice.
Is it OK to plug in the HPWC instead of hard wiring it?
