$90 to get tires rotated

I went to get my car inspected (Virginia) and asked the guy to also rotate the tires. He said the inspection will be $20 and the tire rotation would be $90. Surprised, I asked "Why so much? You're just taking the wheels off and putting them back on again." He thought a moment, then replied "Well, the wheels are delicate. And it has a big battery."

I opted to not have my tires rotated.

Tire batteries are tricky

Tell him you paid extra for the non-delicate wheels since you figured that would be a good idea since they need to hold up the big battery.
So $45.
You shoulda bought the RWD car with the smaller battery then it would have been $32.87.

My local place, one of 2 tire places that said yes to a Tesla, charges $70. I said nope and just did it myself.

Otherwise their prices are good, $150 alignments and they try to match online prices.

Tire rotations are free at America's tire and Discount tire, no matter where you bought you tires. AT has locations in Virgina.

I paid 60 dollars for Tesla mobile service to rotate my tires Model # about 4 months ago.

Considering it will take at least .5 hour of shop time I don't think 90 is too terrible. I charge 80 at my shop.

Unless you don't have a jack, socket and torque wrench, rotate them yourself. But many big box tire shops do rotations for free.
