If that is the case and that mode was enabled, dare I say it sounds like user error?

Tesla has learned after past problems to protect users from accidents in their unique cars.
eg. Tesla has Obstacle-Aware Acceleration that they eventually added based on accidents happening.

Watching the video (to me) it looks like the power accelerated (showing off) down the road and at the turn yes they hit the brakes but that was when they hit the wet grass moving at a great amount of speed. No stopping something moving that fast on grass.

What does the "terrain" have to do with the "accelerator"?

Just my guess, but traction control systems might be at play. If the road is uneven and some tires lose traction, the car might momentarily prevent you from slamming on the brakes.

Not necessarily an educated guess, just a guess.

Older ABS systems would lock out the brakes if it thought you were on ice or other low mu surface to prevent you from making things worse. It can activate on track cars with sticky tires at all the wrong times too

Most newer systems are much more advanced to prevent this so I would be surprised if this is what caused the issue. It is possible though!
