Aero: SIEMENS electric planes in Germany 2019

At Aero in Friedrichshafen, Germany in April 2019, one full exhibition hall was loaded with electric airplanes and related technology. In this week's AVweb video, Paul Bertorelli shows what is on display.

I see 3 categories of electric propulsion for planes:
- standard propellers
- electric powered gimbald fan jets [steer like a rocket - no need for traditional tail section]
- drone helicopter type

Not trying to be cynical, but due to some inside knowledge I don't really think "usable" electric aircraft will become a reality anytime soon, there are just a myriad of problems to be overcome before we have a usable plane that could compete with the most bare-boned general aviation plane, not to mention commercial aviation.

There are definitely interesting concepts out there though.
