Air suspension setting - does it stay?

I don't have my X yet (delivery is in a week).
I'm planning to put air suspension on a high setting when parking in a garage so that a front bumper will be over a door step.
I think, I read somewhere that the air suspension will always return to its default (normal?) height.

Is that true?

If yes, then my bumper will be damaged after some parking time...

Not my experience. Mine raises to get down my steep drive. When I leave, sometimes a few days later, it is still high

You can set location specific settings. ie it remembers where you have set it to be higher.

This is sort of a double edged sword. I think I have one set in the route out of my neighborhood but can never remember to go hunt it down and remove it. Periodically I see a warning about the car resetting the height by location ...
