And this is why that is dumb. Birdseye view gives you the illusion that you can see all around the car but you really can’t.

Birdseye would only be as good as the available cameras. Maybe Tesla's camera placement is better than Rivian's.

I think they’re far worse (for a parking view) actually. If you look at a car with 360 parking the cameras are all angled steeply downwards at the floor next to the car, but aside from the rear one the Tesla’s are all oriented for distance.

The distortion required to try and make them look like they are focussed top down would be hideous and leave massive blind spots.
