i am one of the 3/16 reservation, 6/27 AWD config folks who is still waiting on, anything. No VIN, no communication, no nothing.

I am seeing tons of folks who ordered very recently taking delivery, and much less chatter from the "still waiting" group.

Am I the last one?
I was an April 2 reservation, ordered this month and got my car in less than two weeks. Your order has to be screwed up totally. What happens if you call support and tell them just that?

I have called multiple times, spoken to multiple people at both sales and delivery phone numbers, been in to the local showrooom and service center, have an email string that includes 2 of my assigned IDAs (interestingly, my current assigned IdA never responds, but my previously assigned one does), local delivery and regional delivery folks, and, nothing...

Nobody can tell me anything except, "not yet, should be soon, gosh we really want to get you your car, should be any time now, just waiting on ViN from factory, nothing else we can do, everything in your account is correct". I asked for it to be escalated to someone who can look more closely, and they all say there is nothing more that can be done except to wait.

And so I wait...

Did you call delivery centers.
I called the 3 local delivery centers including my original.
I was able to speak with 2 of them.
They have been very helpful and we’re very interested that i hadn’t received a vin this is beginnfkng of the month.
Then I get ida who says I have a vin and the local delivery center says they could match me with car but I have a vin so just wait for the car I want.
Supposed to take delivery wed so we’ll see.

Your situation is a little strange. I would physically go to a delivery center or call a bunch of them. They also have cars ready to go.
My co worker who doesn’t have reservation orders bc I made him do a test drive 4 weeks ago and he scheduled for next week also. He did everything people at the store.

You are not! Heh heh.

Day 1 line waiter, ordered 6/30. Received a VIN at the end of Q3, then it was taken away. No explanation, communication, status. nothing.

We've called sales, service, national, local, emailed our "DA," emailed our local delivery specialist, and everyone always say, "Sure, wow, this is a bummer, let us look into it, we'll get back to you..." and nothing.
It's a P3D+, Obsidian black/black.

Love the company, this will be our 3rd Tesla, but I've given up contacting them. It's like staring at a clock - I have to get on my my life.
(That does not include groveling on the forums, however, - I'll never get tired of that ;)

The two of you with the super delayed orders are in North Carolina. Correlation is not causation, but it does look weird.

I'm in SW VA and taking delivery in Richmond VA (next week I hope...), and did not have weirdly long delays. I had one VIN/pickup assigned for roughly 7 weeks after I configured. Had to delay and from what I can tell my 'delivery advisor' put me to the back of a line somewhere---instead of a week or so later everything seemed to start all over. So now, another 7-ish weeks after missing my first, my second date has arrived.

This time though I called the 1-888 number and told no issues with my account and no VIN, BUT within 24 hours I had a phone call from the service center directly and a VIN/MVPA on my account a few hours later. No delivery advisor involved. Perhaps you no longer have an involved advisor and the NC service center hasn't adapted? Are you close enough to make an in person visit? If so, take a box of donuts with you...it can't hurt ;).

I reserved on 4/1/16, configured on 6/27/18, and I just got my AWD last Saturday. I did have a delivery scheduled in Sept, but that one was cancelled the day before the appointment. I never had a VIN on the first one so not sure if that one was really going to happen anyway.

OP I wonder if your color config switch pulled you out of line a bit and it has seemed from posts I've read that people in the southeast have been slower to get cars their way. I deferred for AWD and ordered the same day as you, actually your change to white makes us almost twins except I have the 19s. Third series of contacts finally ended with our car which delivery was 9/23 out here in Calif near the factory. Don't think anyone has a crystal ball into how this VIN assignment process is working. Well at least you know there are two of you in NC still waiting. P3s and MRs have seemingly been the ones I've heard the most about lately and hopefully they are producing your config as well in between those batch runs. Date of order hasn't seemed to necessarily be the determining factor in this. Hope you guys will be in your car soon. Do post back when you get your VIN.

I am always impressed by the number of people that buy phones only capable of receiving calls and unable to make a call

Perhaps you should have read the rest of the thread before responding. From the third post in this thread:

I do suspect my color change on Aug 1 put me back a bit, so I did not expect delivery in September. But I am now almost 3 months from the color change, and 4 from order, and I have no communication at all. Like most early order folks, my main concern is getting delivery by Dec 31. And with the storage and delivery issues Raleigh has had, I am getting very concerned. Delivery location issues asside, the factory should have assigned a VIN long ago, I would think.

I'm a day one reservation holder and I placed an order for the RWD model on April 13, 2018. I received an email stating that my delivery would be delayed until June. On June 27th I change my order from RWD to AWD since my vehicle was not ready. Since then the only communications I've received was the update to my order and the text message at the end of September stating that delivery would be available, which was not the case.

I'm wondering if the reason I'm not being matched to a vehicle is because I changed my order from RWD to AWD.

I've called multiple times and never got any answers. I called again earlier this week and I was told I'd be put on priority list to get matched to a VIN, but still definitive date or guarantee.

LR AWD Red/Black 18"Aero EAP
Original Config date 4/13/18 - RWD
Updated Config date 6/27/2018 - AWD
Previous owner: no
Reservation holder: Yes, 3/31/18
Location: Houston, TX

A HUGE THANK YOU to @bonnie and a special shout out to @suwaneedad for getting me in touch with her!

I have now spoken to my local delivery manager and he has found a matching (almost) inventory model 3 at another delivery center that he is transporting to my delivery location. ASAP!

I still don't know what ever happened to the original order, but the local folks took an order from up the chain and got on it.

This model 3 has 19 inch wheels, rather than 18 which I ordered, but otherwise same configuration. Not a reject, and no work has been done to it. Build date is Oct 11, with a 117k vin. So, should be all good.

I can vouch for Bonnie. Amazing help from her, and this forum.

Thanks all! I'll let you know when I get the car.
