Ambient Lightning Tap in

Hey guys, i’ve just got my brand new tesla y 2023 and i’m installing my rgb ambient lightning kit , it’s a hardwire kit so i’ve had to relay power from vcleft(rhd model) to the cigarette lighter. I’m now up to doing the doors and when i tap power into the ambient lighting wire the light works, but only when the car is in park, as soon as i put car in drive it turns off. what could be the case here and how could i resolve it? Thanks!

Wouldn’t the “maker” of the hardware kit be the best ask solution to your inquiry? At least before you fry the computer or electronics in the car.

turn on ambient light on your main screen its a setting. i tape my cig plug from my RGB ambient light kit to my driver foot well light and you can turn it on and off with the ambient light button on the main screen.

Was this ever solved? The ambient lighting connection would follow the on/off profile of the ambient lighting system - on/off based on windscreen sensor.
