Anyone have definitive proven way to keep ac running while sleeping overnight?

Sorry if the info is somewhere in the forum already but does anyone have a definitive proven way to keep ac running overnight while sleeping in the MS? Sleeping in the back and not in the driver's seat. Preferable from someone who has done it, not ideas and theories.:biggrin:

Didnt watch it again but if I remember correctly you need to put the car in neutral and engage the emergency break instead. Not sure if you can charge while not in park though.

Can't charge at the same time. Only way for that is to activate HVAC every 30 mins manually or with the app or 3rd party app (Visible Tesla)

Have not done it, but the summary of much discussion on this topic is:

If you don't need to charge then by leaving the car in neutral with the parking brake manually engaged.

If you do need to charge then by putting a heavy object (80lbs or more) on the driver's seat to simulate a person, latching the driver's seat belt, and then after the weight is already in place pressing the brake pedal to turn the car "on".

If you have a laptop and both it and the car can get a data signal, by using VisibleTesla's scheduler to wake the car up and start the AC periodically through the night.

You don't need to have your computer with you for VisibleTesla to do it's thing. As long as your computer (wherever it is) is awake and connected to the Internet, and your S has a good data connection, you are set. And if you are away from your computer, and need to get very creative, use Logmein or another remote access app so you can telnet into your computer and make changes to VT as needed.

Wouldn't it be amazing if visible tesla had a way of receiving commands sent to it via something like if this then that, or via an email? Ifthisthenthat could even set up an SMS way of activating commands. Obviously security is paramount, but it might make for cool additional functionality. Imagine SMSing a command to say "set AC on til 8am" and then getting a confirmation email or SMS back from VT. It would need a at running on a PC at home. I personally have VT running 24/7 on my Mac at home so I can log trips etc.
