AP2.0 —> AP2.5 upgrade?

What is required to make Sentry/Dashcam/Dog-Mode work on AP2.0?

Would simply swapping the AP2.5 board make this work (or are the MCU2 and IC required)?

Has anyone successfully gone from AP2.0 to AP2.5?

You would need an AP2.5+ board and the necessary software tweakage to make it work with a car that's expecting to see an AP2.0 computer. There is not going to be an AP2.0-to-AP2.5 upgrade path offered, but those that have purchased FSD will have an upgrade to the AP3.0 computer set.

Ah, i thought the difference is mcu and maybe a different radar ? Also driver camera ?

I should note: I’m not looking for Tesla’s official response. I’m interested in unorthodox/creative solutions I know it’s possible, I just need some guidance from someone who knows or has done it.

You’d need to run a new wire for the radar, root your cid, replace all your cameras, replace your front radar, then do a gateway update for the new ape and probably also a firmware redeploy? Maybe more?

Other then the backup camera yes it's true, but I figured as long as your replacing the other 7 cameras, why not do them all?

No new MCU needed, there plenty of AP2.5 / MCU1 cars
