Are delivery repairs no longer free?

I had a car delivered last week that was out of (steering) alignment and had a hood that was a little off-center with about a 1/2 inch gap on the passenger side. I created a service appointment to get these fixed in good faith, just like the delivery center said to do.

Today, I received a service invoice (day before appointment) for $234 for the alignment and $97.50 in labor to fix the hood. Are they no longer repairing vehicles delivered in less than perfect shape? I plan to fight this with the service center in Dublin tomorrow, which happens to be right at the 7-day return window. I will return the car if they insist on charging me for these fixes.

The loan is through TD Auto and Tesla’s return policy fine print notes there could be penalties for terminating a loan. Does anyone have experience with this?

This is normal. They quote all service with prices. If it’s under warranty, you pay nothing. Don’t worry about it.

There is some history with me and the service department lately, so imagine if this was also the 5th time they’ve screwed up or pissed us off in the last two weeks!

History? Maybe you have pissed them off too. I'd take fresh donuts or muffins for the techs/S.A's if I were you. Works. Think of it as insurance.

History meaning they’ve screwed stuff up several times recently. I’ve previously been a pretty respectful and courteous owner, understanding that they’re going through a hard time with the company.

After some manager approvals, they were able to remove the cost. The issue was the delivery center not using a "due bill" but you can't really "due bill" an alignment when you can't notice it upon delivery...
