Auto vs manual AC efficiency

Would it be more efficient to manually put the AC or heater on full blast then just turn it off once you’re comfortable after a few mins? Or just leave it on auto for most of the trip?

Guess it depends the temp outside and your desired cabin temp. If there’s a big difference, you would be toggling the climate on/off full blast every few minutes.

I doubt that’s more efficient than auto and it’s definitely more work for you.

Do what keeps you comfortable and don’t worry about efficiency. Any difference won’t be significant enough to matter, even if you’re on a road trip.

The most efficient thing is to set the "Precondition" option to "on" for Scheduling in the app. Then it will use wall power to precondition the car. Otherwise just set it to the desired temperature and let the car figure it out. You aren't going to outsmart the car when it comes to A/C efficiency.

It takes more energy to raise / lower temperature than it does to maintain it. Leave it on Auto and “chill” to some music.
