Automatic wipers don't recognise spray

Hi folks, I've just acquired a 2019 100D and drove it for the first time in rain today. the "automatic wipe" feature really didn't work well at all. It was fine in full rain (so the rain sensor does appear to be working), but in spray the wiper sensor didn't seem to notice water on the screen. I left it several times until the screen was almost opaque - I had to manually wipe before I lost visibility altogether! Does anyone else recognise this behaviour, and can anything be done about it?

I think the auto wipers are still in beta. I have had the windshield become so completely covered that the autopilot shuts off because the auto wipers don't sense the water and turn on. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, like many things in a Tesla. Just use it when it works. Since it is programming code controlled, service really can't fix it.
