Autopilot braking for sharpish bends

Not been out much over last 4 months. Travelling along A class single carriageway 60mph limit with good road markings on autopilot. As sharpish bends approach autopilot applies braking then resumes as road markings are straighter. Sometimes down to 25mph. As you approach the brow of a hill the lines disappear from view so autopilot doesn't know to slow if a bend is next. Can be a little unnerving if you don't know either. So I exited autopilot until I was sure.

Surely the penny must be dropping that at the moment AP does not work for anything but motorways ? And even then you risk being rammed up the rear when it decides to slam the brakes on for no good reason.

Or rather, that it causes more stress for the driver than not having it. If have you have to spend all your time making sure it doesn't do something dumb then you are better off driving yourself and enjoying the experience.

I turned mine off long ago.
