Autopilot - Tesla hugs OUTSIDE of curves---why?

This thread needs far more video. I've never felt uncomfortable with AP on highways here in Maryland, which are often very curvy.

But it's also telling that the OP says AP hugs the outside of curves and that he wishes it would hug in the inside, and then cheburaska replies with a screenshot showing it hug the inside of curves and says it's useless.

You can't please everyone all the time in all places, but AP pleases me 99% of the time in MD highways.

Totally offtopic but Che, do you happen to know JC Clearclaw, also of Los Gatos? He plays a lot of 18xx board games.

That is a divided 4 lane highway (2 lanes in each direction)
And your ICU picture does not show an adjacent lane rendered. Would love a pic with better context.

I can confirm that there are spots where it sometimes has trouble seeing the other lane on CA-17 and I have to force it to change lanes. It seems to be a recent regression.

Here are a couple pics of AP taking curvy mountainous roads to the ocean and back. AP seems to edge slightly towards the inside on the rendering.
