AWD Power increase

While I was taking delivery yesterday the specialist told me that there was a new update after dog mode. He thought it was the AWD getting the power increase that the Extended range previously received. Just finished the install and that is, in fact, what it was.

I got 2019.8.4 last night and the release notes say I received the 5% power increase. Non-P AWD.

Gains more than a tenth 0-60 and all of it comes after 40 MPH, at least that’s what this person in the video below got. Note that these times are likely without the 1ft rollout that most manufacturers use.

Bottom of the sheet shows 0-60 with 1ft rollout, he was showing 4.2s 0-60 with 1ft rollout after update.

Makes sense.

It's not a 5% power increase.

It's a 5% increase in peak power. Peak power hits around or shortly after 40.

And FWIW a guy measured the power difference directly with the API, his results showed 0 change up to 45 mph, then 8% more power in a flat line all the way up to 100 (where his data stopped)

A little over a third of the fleet is waiting for 8.3+ including me.

I saw a video from DAErick on YouTube showing his can being faster by turning on the slip start option. Has anyone tried this?

Not on AWD. No slip start option due to the dual motors. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
