My car is affected by the backup camera cable recall. At least every other day the backup camera stops working. At the same time I lose autopilot, fsd and tacc. Anyone else have that problem. 2018 M3LR
There was a service advisory for changing the rear camera/light cable due to cable wearing out due to friction with the trunk. Please check on this and put a service request with Tesla. This cannot be fixed remotely
I got notified of this recall months ago, however it said there was no fix available at the time, and they would contact me when there was. But hey, thanks for helping reduce carbon…..
The recall fix might not be available, but they should still be able to replace the bad wiring harness with another (failure prone) wiring harness. This should get your back-up camera and ADAS systems back up and running for the time being.
I would create a service appointment to address the camera failure without mentioning the recall.
Hmmm. Somebody was working with the rear camera and harness in Sept. Less than a month later, your rear camera acts up. Sounds like somebody needs to come back out and check the connection. Maybe they didn't fully seat a harness connector.
yes - see the solution above - the coax cable for the rear camer was unseated and loose - thus no rear view camera - no FSD. You can try to fix it yourself or you need to have a service come out. mine was unseated by Tesla tech themselves when they did the harness recall,.
