I'm not sure what they are talking about. Two guys at work today said Tesla was looking at bankruptcy and was a horrible stock pick.
A quick Google search showed nothing recent so are they just working with old old info?

Threads like this is how such rumors start/spread. You should know better.
Tesla has so much cash available to them that anything like bankruptcy would be nuts.

Do you have any reason to believe those "couple'a guys at work" have any idea what they're talking about?

Or just talking out their a$$? Or trying to short it? Either way, I don't know their finances, but if they ARE going broke, they sure spent last weekend going out in style.

I know guys like that. They claim that Tesla is a Ponzi scheme and that "their technology isn't that special". I wouldn't be surprised if they worship GM and Ford.

Tesla needs to deliver the Model S soon to establish mind-share. BMW has been buying TV ads for "the future" electric car. Established premium car makers will not like having their market share diminished by Tesla.

20,000 cars is a rounding error to those guys.

It would be better not to start a thread with this title. The internet artificially strengthens even crazy stuff. Jim Cramer said today to sell TSLA as too risky and the stock closed up .75. Was up 1.09 at one point. If there is going to be any problem at all, which I doubt, it won't come until 2013 and will only happen if the Model S can't find 20K customers/year.

    Thanks Doug,

So I set the guys straight. Not sure where the "news" came from but it was not as current as they first postulated.

I maintain though that we do need to talk about Tesla gibberish too.

    Keep them closer...

Great sign that the stock will rock!

    Cramer's record speaks for itself.

Good news, Tesla is a public company so you can just take a look at their balance sheet.

    Tesla - SEC Filings

You should find that they have plenty of cash.
