Well, I think the reason has little to do with not wanting to miss self imposed deadlines and everything to do with needing the car to be ready when the gigafactory is ready. Idle gigafactory would be terrible for the business. There was no such forcing function on Model X.

I think Jonas was just trying to take advantage of Elon's terrible self control when it comes to new product announcements. True, that's more of a button that a reporter should be pushing, but I don't think he was out of line. I think Elon's people need to step in sooner though.

The first Model S deliveries happened over the summer though, if I remember correctly. Model X started at the end of September. So relatively speaking, i think it is the same.

You misunderstood. I think they did get the keys to their cars. I just don't think that their cars were the ones that picked them up on stage. I think their cars were out in the parking lot.

Nobody said those were their cars. They just got the keys to their cars and were chauffeured off the stage by the test drive cars.

I read at least one article last night that said that there would be a roof rack but that obviously it would prevent the FW doors from opening. Presumably that just means you have to get in and out of the front doors.

Most momentum stocks are up big today. I think the CR report helped, but at least 4-5% of this move is just following the market.
