Hi,
For a while now, I’ve been meaning to post some pictures of an improvement I made to the interior accents of my 2018 LR RWD Model 3.
These were done about 3 months ago. Following are some pictures.
The rear vent cover, all the switchgear accents were done entirely by me, ordering some very thin (0.10”) real Maple veneer from realwoodpaper.com, and then finished with clear poly coating, after cutting carefully, bending them with a hot iron, and gluing them carefully. Pretty labor intensive and attention to detail and patience to redo mistakes over and over are mandatory traits you need to have, if you really want to do this.
The dashboard pieces came from hillsmade.com. I had to color match them to the other pieces I had already worked on. Same poly coating and polishing was done to those as well.
Finally, some fake metal accents on the center console doors to give a near-factory look. (Tesla, if you look at these pictures, take note, some of us might want more coverage of luxury feeling materials throughout the cabin!)
I also intend to get the seats upholstered with lighter cream suede/ dark red vegan leather perforated combo later on, when I get some time.
