Bilstein Looking at Model 3

For those of us who just a set it and forget it setup. Bilstein is looking into developing shocks for the Model 3. No ETA at this time. I’m assuming they are looking to see if there is any interest from the community. Would be nice to have this option.

I'll be Bilstein's first P3D if they can improve ride and handling.
If its just shocks I would presume ride height shouldn't be stock.

My understanding is that it’s only shocks. Good thing about Bilstein is that you can choose a set of lowering springs, send the springs/shocks to them and they will revalve their shocks $50 a corner.

I'd be interested. My '03 Cobra came factory with Bilstein shocks/struts but I ended up going with Maximum Motorsports Sport Tuned Bilstein versions which are a bit firmer. If Bilstein came out with shocks/struts for a Model 3, I'd move forward with lowering springs as well. The Tesla factory shocks/struts are too soft, IMO.

I would buy when I need to replace mine. I did buy a version that was made for lowering springs. Way better ride quality than stock ( 2010 Genesis Coupe)

Bilstein shocks have always been the superior choice. I'm glad that they're acknowledging the need for better shocks when it came to Tesla models as well.

Used various Bilstein shocks and coilovers on 2005-2015 era ICE cars.

Even when model specific and supposedly properly spec'ed - I was not impressed with their characteristics for daily driver duty. Their only redeeming properties were build quality and longevity.

I hope they come out with a compelling coilover kit and not just shocks for lowering springs.
