Blackvue Alternatives?

Since BlackVue was in the title, I figured it would be prudent to mention it’s not USB in case someone read this thread seeing the title, then decided to get a BlackVue. They should know it’s not USB.

There’s no problem connecting anything to 12v on a Tesla, and with the traction battery, there’s no need for a power brick to provide power to the device.

Correct for X S owners not sure why there is issue for 3s connecting cams direct ...which is why they use battery packs

So no OBD power? Can't tap into 12v power anywhere? There has to be a cable under the dash that's always on, right? The computer is always on.

No OBD at all; no-one has sprung for the service manual access to find a good always-on; a few folks have probed-and-guessed, but that's a little shaky IMO.
