Blank rear motor id plate

I hope this has been figured out already, what the heck is this most likely rear motor on a 2018 model 3 LR and why would it be blank or covered

Im fairly sure (but not 100% positive) that the only rear motor that existed at that time for Model 3s was the 980. I bought my model 3P in the beginning of December, 2018, and started following Tesla stuff at that time. I dont remember any mention of different motors until sometime in 2019.

Yes seems like October 2018 980 motor will have a blank plate, mine is November though, what does your December motor have, a 980 or 990

990 motors did not exist in 2018 (and I have a model 3P which has only ever shipped with the 980 motor)
