Buyer's Remorse - 22" Tire Package

Hey all,

So we ordered our MX customized our MX last week and originally opted for the 22" tire package. The sales rep found a car in inventory that was the same build but without the tires but said that they can easily order it and we would just pay the $5500 difference. The car was delivered early and we actually picked it up this past Saturday. The tires they mentioned will be delivered in 2-3 weeks and then we can go back to get it installed.

After reading through the reviews on the consumption issues, I'm having buyers remorse. I contacted the sales rep and asked if I can cancel the tire order and he said no since that was the way it was built out eventhough they have not yet delivered and installed the tires. Does anyone know the fine print or rules around this situation? Can I maybe escalate to see if a manager can override that decision?

Any thoughts? or am I SOL and just need to take the 22" or try to sell?

The 20inch wheels are going to give you a much better ride and comfort also more efficient. The 22" just look good and can be herbed easily too.

Yeh...I was choosing vanity initially...and then I'm like, man...I made a mistake.

For what it's worth, I love my 22 inch wheels. And, while I only have a 3 day test drive with the smaller wheels to compare, I don't find noticeable differences in ride quality. I love them and it's the #1 compliment/comment I get on my car.

Stay with 22s.. Range difference is marginal as I have both 22 and 20s on my XP100D in different seasons. Big guys are just too pretty to not have.

Range difference is only 10% at the most.

I've have both 22s and 20s, range really is not an issue having 22s, and as everyone have already said they just look fab.

I love my 22" wheels, but they're definitely not worth $5500. If you can get Tesla to update your config back to the 20" wheels, you can buy a set of 22" wheels here on the forums for $3500 or less (lots of people selling their referral wheels). Then you have two sets of wheels you can use.

I went back and forth on the 22s. I think they completely change the look of the car and my commute to work is 6 miles each way. Yes there are times I could possibly use the extra 10-15% of range but the majority of the time it will not make a difference.
