Agree. Of course registrations are down, because there's a pandemic going on and the entire state was shut down for months. What I'd like to see is how that decrease compares to other manufacturers.

Also the EV add on registration Fee went up to as much as $175.00 in California. If the state keeps taxing the cars, people will loose the incentive to buy them.

Why is this news? Every auto maker suffered in Q2. Almost every part of the economy suffered in Q2. This isn't news.

The Cross-Sell data is based on registrations with the DMV, which lag sales by several weeks. Since Tesla makes most deliveries in the last couple weeks of the quarter, this is really about Q1, when Fremont and many delivery centers in California were shut down for the last week due to covid-19.

People have repeatedly brought the timing issue to the attention of Cross-Sell but they keep peddling misleading information to the press, who then repeats it.
