can I subscribe for a trip tomorrow?

If I subscribe to FSD, how quickly will it work? Will I have to wait for a new update to download to get all the features?

Currently on 2023.38.6.

Going on a 4 hour trip tomorrow and considering it, but only if it would be fully active for my trip.

The software is already on your car. Just subscribe and then go into Controls > Autopilot > Autopilot Features > Full Self-Driving (Beta) on your car and enable FSD beta and agree to the terms and conditions.

A version of FSD beta is now included in all software updates so there’s no more waiting for a specific software download. Just subscribe and it should be activated shortly as long as the car has cell reception or wifi connection.

My $0.02? Be very careful when using the Beta FSD! Especially when the car is presented with the choice of a left turn lane, a right turn lane and a straightahead lane at the same time. I don’t know about others, but mine loses its mind in these situations.

You didn’t say what kind of car you have. If you have a HW4 car, only certain FSD Beta builds are compatible.

Stated in the OP. The car is on 23.38.6/11.4.4.
