Can you turn the screen off?

Yes I'm aware of that, I was trying to see if a quick press of the two buttons causes the screen to stay off, as previous posters have mentioned...it doesnt!

Sadly, there's no option for it. I wish there were -- it'd be perfect for drive-in movies. And maybe some of the intimate moments that I've heard might along with those... LOL

Well then a small dark towel over the screen might have a side benefit too! LOL

Just took the kiddos to the drive in this weekend, and this is still an issue. Aside from simply covering the screen, I guess there's no simple way to turn the screen off (yet). We used camp mode combined with "screen clean" mode. Kind of annoying...

Never have a problem with camp mode, I turn the brightness all the way down first, then enter camp mode. Once the animation goes away (~5min), there’s just a little “camp mode” on the screen. We go to the drive in 2-3 times a month.

Yes the screen goes into dark mode after several minutes. It's after the campfire scene.
