Carbon Capture Crypto-Currency?

So, in order to generate Bitcoins, it takes a large amount of computer power and a large amount of energy.

How about creating a environmentally friendly currency.

What if there was an environmentally friendly powered device one could purchase or build that captured CO2,

and as it did it generated cryptocurrency?

There are several cryptos that don’t require mining and could be considered environmentally friendly. I think IOTA is one example with their non-blockchain setup. I know Ethereum is going to convert to proof of stake sometime next year which will eliminate mining and the current energy use.
