Hi all, thought I would contribute back to this forum as you all have been very helpful and setting expectations for me as I accepted delivery for my first ever Tesla MY this past Friday. Will try to use blurbs as I don't want to write novels.

Order placed: Monday 7/13/20
VIN assigned: 8/3/20
Delivery: 8/7/20
Build mo./yr. (info obtained after delivery): July 2020

LR, AWD, 19" gemini, black interior (no add-ons; $49,990)

Timeline of events for delivery
1. Rec'd call from delivery specialist Monday 8/3 evening and email with MVPA, VIN #
2. Had to complete some lending contract info w/ my bank on 8/4
3. On 8/5, I was able to send executed lending contract to Tesla and was told vehicle can now be scheduled for delivery. I was to expect a call from scheduler and/or driver to schedule delivery, was told likely Sat 8/8
4. Around 8 pm on 8/6, got a call from actual driver asking if he could deliver it Fri 8/7 in the morning at a Walmart parking lot (due to size of truck - did not want to risk taking into residential area and scratching vehicles)
5. Vehicle was delivered 8/7 between 10-1030 am.

This first post will highlight the positives:

1. Overall fitment better than expected
- Charge port was nice and flush
- both front headlights nice and flush
- both camera wells align well
- L taillight - great
- R taillight - loose! (will go into detail in the next post)
2. Backseat alignment - actually not bad

Others (not pictured):
- inside door paint looks like a completed job
- interior seats w/o any dents
- tow hitch, charging cables - all there
- trunk opens/closes smoothly (no catching, no squeaking)
- A/C , heater work seamlessly

Now for the negatives:

1. steering wheel stitching was cut/clipped when I got it. bummed out as the rest of the steering wheel was perfect (UPDATE: after submitting photos for Tesla Service in App, I got an alert that a new S.W. was already ordered for the day I bring it in for service - so that's a positive)
2. glove compartment not installed fully
3. headliner gap that many of you saw with your MYs (one side ok, one side noticable gap)
4. top hatch still seems to be a struggle point for the MY assembly for Tesla
5. minor inconsistent flush-ness of the rear lights
6. R bumper gap - looks fairly minor in photo; but fairly decent size gap in person

..cont':

7. minor wheel well trim fitment
8. minor door panels fitment
9. door button (old version - not the newer one w/ the car icon; not a major issue, was just hoping to get the updated button!)
10. coat hanger hook - probably as best as it will ever be

All in all?! My personal summary:

  • 3-weeks from order time to VIN assignment wasn't too awful
  • roughly 4 weeks from order to delivery
  • my Carrier Direct Specialist was a great communicator - making the delivery experience very easy and stress free
  • this forum & other videos 100% helped set expectations going into my delivery day
    • HUGE thanks to the helpful contributors of this forum
    • there's a TON of stuff to read and review, but being informed helps to limit the stress when picking up your vehicle
  • Are findings egregious enough to return the car before 7-day mark hits? No.
    • In my short 5 days of owning my very first Tesla, the drive has been amazing and I love being off of the gas-grid. My service appt is set up and the imperfections I found on delivery were not enough for me to return and reset the clock for another car.
And as usual, I rambled when I said I'd try not to! Ha!
