Ceiling “window” heat related cracking?

My 2020 Y has not been left parked in any extreme heat yet I have discovered long cracks in the upper (ceiling) glass roof!
Anyone else had this happen??
Warranty coverage?

Open a service request using the Tesla app. Tesla Service will examine the glass roof of your Model Y for any signs of any chips from impacts that could have caused the glass to crack. Tesla will determine whether the repair will be covered under the warranty.

This happened to me. They simply said to go to an auto repair shop and get it covered by my insurance. I’m fighting them in that. I’ve had this car less than a year.

There is NO way that you can prove the crack was due to the defective glass from the factory. Call your insurance.
And most mysterious crack turned out to be crack from impact. You just need to find that impact point. IT could be very small and/or in very hard to notice spot.

My car was delivered with a cracked roof and no apparent impact point. I’m thinking the glass had an imperfection and it failed from stress.

After they replace it, I’m going to get a strip of PPF applied to the front of it to protect against rocks.

Not sure how PPF is going to help glass? A rock hit is a rock hit.

PPF is not impact absorbing film. It is designed to prevent scratches and small chips due to small debris hitting the bumper which is soft plastic. If the glass is behind the PPF, it will crack.
