So the other day my garage door didn’t close all the way (been happening a few times for past couple weeks, this time i forgot to check) and a raccoon got into the garage and messed around a bit. Found the charger bitten like this. Had the plastic inside undamaged but wondering if theres a safety issue here. What do you guys think? It’s working fine.
Also anyone knows if renters insurance covers this kind of damage?

It looks like the raccoon also damaged the edge of the NEMA plug adapter. I think the Mobile Connector is compromised as far as water intrusion. You could wrap it in Duck tape but the best thing is to replace both the Mobile Connector and the NEMA plug adapter. If your renter's insurance has a deductible is it less than $300? The cost to replace the Mobile Connector is $275. If you are using other than the included NEMA 5-15 plug adapter (can't tell from the photo) then for example a NEMA 5-20 plug adapter would cost and additional $35.

I was debating if j should go the duct tape route but i have to use this charger at work and will be in the elements. Probably I’ll leave this one at home as a permanent connection and get a new one. Insurance is $250 deductible.

A lot of good recommendations in this place~
NGL I low key wish this spotted big rat bite on a live exposed wire. It’s been spreading garbage everywhere in our complex.
I’ll try some rtv
